Usually we reflect on what we are thankful and grateful for at Thanksgiving. However, lately, I have felt the need to stop and take notice of my many Blessings. Recently, I purchased a beautiful sign for my bedroom. It simply says “grateful”. It’s the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing I see before I close my eyes at night. It’s just a simple, yet powerful reminder. And it grounds me.
As some of you may know, I lost my husband, Rob, December 27, 2014 to heart disease. We were high school sweethearts and would be celebrating 43 years of marriage this December. Instead of being sad about who is not in my daily life, I’m choosing to be grateful about the loves I do have in my life.
My children are and always have been the center of my life. I now have a beautiful Grandson, Robbie, who is the love of my life. I see so much of my Rob in this little boy. He is pure joy and I am so very grateful. We try to gather for family dinners at least twice a month….the menu not important, although we do love to eat!
️These dinners are about connecting as a family. I am grateful . There’s always “Dad stories” at these dinners and much laughter and fond memories. Little Robbie recognizes his “Papa” in pictures and gives him kisses. A little sister will be joining Robbie in November and she too, will know Papa. I am grateful.
My gratefulness doesn’t end with family. I am so Blessed and grateful to have a best friend and business partner who is like a sister. She is my confidant, my “calmer downer”, and my partner in crime for almost 30 years. She is the Thelma to my Louise, the Ethel to my Lucy, and the Laverne to my Shirley. I am grateful.
This brings me to the business Gloria and I have built the last (almost) two years. Ambiance Boutique Folsom is a work in progress and a labor of love. Over the months we have evolved and blossomed not only in business, but in spirit and gratefulness. Thank you to our fabulous and faithful customers. We are so grateful to you.
Hope to see your beautiful faces soon at Ambiance Boutique Folsom. Our happy place.
Until next time….
Gloria and Jane
